20th Annual Rochester River Challenge

Team up with six other friends, family members or business associates with or without disabilities and come celebrate 20 years of outrigger canoe sprint racing for paddlers of all abilities in Rochester. No experience is necessary. All equipment is provided along with a steersman for the canoes. The River Challenge is CAOO’s main fun(d) raising event of the year. Proceeds help support CAOO’s programs for individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

Remembering John D. Eichner

The Cape Ability Outrigger Ohana (Family) mourns the passing of John D. Eichner, one of our founding members. John will be with us in heart and mind as we remember his smile, his friendliness and his joy of paddling. To honor John’s memory and his enjoyment of competing in our inclusive community event, CAOO will inscribe “In Memory of John D. Eichner” on theadaptive paddle his used and rename Rochester River Challenge Golden Masters Division, the John D. Eichner Memorial Golden Masters Division.

Special thanks to members of John’s family and friends who contributed memorial gifts to CAOO in his honor.

Sincerely,

Jan Whitaker, President
