An inclusive community event and a Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project Event. Wounded Warriors  will be invited to participate in the outrigger canoe sprint races and an all-expense paid weekend of activities in Western New York.

The IVF World Sprint Championships will be held in Sacramento California during August 2008.

Cape Ability Ohana Outrigger will be there!

We are pleased to report that all races will be full medal events for the first time ever in this international championship event for paddlers with disabilities. This is another small but notable step forward in our march towards inclusion of the sport in Paralympic Games.

Congratulations to Augusto Perez and Tammy Jopson who won their respective class in the East Coast Outrigger Canoe Racing Association's adaptive paddler solo outrigger canoe trails held as part of the 2007 Rochester River Challenge. The wins have positioned Augusto and Tammy as participants in the  2008 International Va'a (Outrigger Canoe) Federation World Sprints. That event will happen during August 1 - 9, 2008 on Lake Natoma in California's Nimbus Flats State Park, Rancho Cordova, California

For the 11th consecutive year the Rochester River Challenge has been a successful, inclusive community event. This year with over 300 athletes plus

their families, supporters, volunteers, spectators and sponsors.
