International Rankings

on Concept 2 Paddling Adapter

As a service to the international community of paddlers with disabilities, CAOO is posting Paddling Adapter Rankings so paddlers around the world using the Vermont Waterways Paddling Adapter on a Concept 2 Indoor Rower Model C, D or, E can compare their times in an objective manner without having to travel to a competition site. There are no entry fees and no awards. Paddlers’ scores will be accepted using an honor system and can be updated by following directions found below, for submitting scores.

Sue Beck on Adapted Paddling Machine

CAOO strongly recommends that paddlers obtain a physician’s medical clearance prior to starting a vigorous exercise, training and/or racing program. A warm-up period prior to taking the test is suggested; continued, easy paddling immediately after the test is suggested until the participant’s heart rate returns to pre-test rate.

Prior to testing, paddlers with intellectual disability, who have obtained their physician’s approval for participation in a vigorous exercise program, should receive instruction and practical training in proper technique and safety during the changing of paddling sides to avoid facial injury.
